Why is it that I have such difficulty finding clothes I like?
Why is it that I have such difficulty finding clothes I like?

I'm 50, short and size 16.

I'm looking for a light blue raincoat at the moment and can't find one. I suppose because blue isn't a fashion colour.

Why not? Who decides what's in fashion anyway?

People who want everyone else to buy more new clothes from them decide what is in fashion. And somewhere there are people who design fashions based upon what works well for a season or type of event and what makes people look attractive.

Each individual should decide what is in fashion -- and what is not in fashion!

If you like something it can be in fashion.

If that something you like also adds to your attractiveness, then it is definitely very much in fashion!

And if that something that you like and that adds to your attractiveness is also within your budget, it is absolutely, most positively totally in fashion! And cool too.

But if that something that you like and adds to your attractiveness is a little beyond your budget, well, then it may be in fashion on your next payday.

Too often attractive and comfortable fashions are suddenly labeled "not in". Or they they change from attractive to less-attractive versions. Maybe designers want to sell more clothes.

Why would they want people to discard their current stuff just to buy new designs -- especially when the new designs are less functional or are considered by many to be less attractive?

Perhaps designing clothes and accessories are businesses and designers want to make more money.

Designers certainly have every right to try to make more money. And they should introduce new designs because many people like wearing the latest whatever stuff.

But wise men and women know that if they wear clothes that are of good quality, fit well, and tend to make them look attractive, then those items are definitely "In Style"... regardless of who else says not.

Blue is a big color this season.

Keep looking and you should be able to find something.

Consider some friends or others who just want to show off some aspect of themselves because they get the notion that they are cool and that aspect makes them look even cooler.

Some people of that sort then start wearing a particular style regardless of the fact that it is inappropriate for the occasion, looks trashy, or is actually not attractive -- even on them.

Sleeveless formal occasion anyone?
